11 June 2018 Organisers of the 2018 TOTAL Great Ethiopian Run are predicting a record time of just ten days for all 44,000 places to sell out ahead of the race. Registration opens on 11 June 2018. The speed of the sale of places for the race has become commonplace since early registration was introduced five years ago. Based on participants’ feedback, this year’s race participants will wear a top-quality t-shirt which is sure to add value to Africa’s most colourful race – and the demand for places.
3 June 2018 – the 15th edition of the IFH Relay Races was held today with the moto Lets end traffic violence traffic violence together- road safety for all.
This race is different from the other races organized by Great Ethiopian Run as it creates a suitable platform for team building among employees of different organizations.
Groups of athletes from various clubs were part of the race that started at the Besrate Gebrel church round about. In addition to the athletes a total of 110 groups from 9 different sectors made it to the race. Government; Bank &Insurance; Business; Embassies; NGOs; GYMs; Hotels; construction & real state and Chinese companies in Ethiopia were the sectors that participated.
6 May 2018 – The 12th edition of the Europe Day children races was held successfully with a total of 2,200 participants. The event had various entertainment components including a performance from two siblings who has donated their violin and piano skills on a VCD for children who are suffering from Cancer. Ethiopis was also the highlight of the day among other entertainment programs. Haile Gebreselase; EU Ambassador Johan Borgstam and other invited guests were part of this colorful event.
13 May 2018 – Commercial Bank of Ethiopia celebrates its 75th anniversary with 13,000 participants at Meskel Square.
Today’s race had a variety of races including the competition between the winners from each region that the CBE race was held at. The other races which are also expected to be fascinating are the race between elders who are 75 years of age, competition between premium customers of the Bank; and race between the Vice Presidents and Branch Managers are some.
15 April 2018 – Ethiopian Medical Association run held this year with the motto ‘Run for quality’. This race mainly focuses to bring change on the current practice on quality of medical service in Ethiopia. The race will also help to to increase awareness of the message on non communicable diseases and also bring the medical society and the general public one step closer.
